Acting as the CEO of MÁV-TRAKCIÓ Railway Traction Private Company Limited by Shares appointed as of 1 January 2009, I have the honour of welcoming our Readers on the website of our Company. I hope that our continually updated website will help You know as much as possible about our Company, our activity and our future objectives.

MÁV-TRAKCIÓ Co. devoted the last one year to organizing its structure, creating the corporate processes and improving in technical fields. These development processes have been successfully completed since: the labour organization of the independent traction company has been set up, its contractual relations are duly arranged in most of the cases, it has a stable financial standing and liquidity is also ensured. MÁV-TRAKCIÓ Co. possesses all the human and technical resources that open the door to providing a competitive and customer-oriented railway traction service.

In the forthcoming period one of the most important responsibilities of MÁV-TRAKCIÓ Railway Traction Co. will be to further improve operating efficiency, primarily so that our traction company could play an active and determinative role in the development of Hungarian rail traffic and the performance of reliable and up-to-date traction and shunting activities in the future as well.

Despite any change in management, the former objectives of MÁV-TRAKCIÓ Co. (to provide flexible, competitive and continually improving services to its business partners and customers) are not changed. In 2009 one of the most essential tasks will remain to implement and complete the earlier commenced IT and service support development projects. This includes, inter alia, unceasingly supplying our locomotives with state-of-the-art on-board IT equipment. The traction design and management system will, once introduced, facilitate a more efficient follow-up on our business processes.

Our priority objective is to meet the traction demands of our customers in the MÁV Group. We seek to reach an at least 3-year frame agreement with MÁV-START Co., MÁV CARGO Co. and MÁV-GÉPÉSZET Co. so that the service and management trends could be clear for us all at MÁV Group level. We also plan to enter into a service agreement with the private railway companies in Hungary.

MÁV-TRAKCIÓ Co. intends to persistently place much emphasis on finding and implementing new cooperation schemes. Our Company projects to open toward the traction markets of some foreign countries, mainly those neighbouring Hungary in the next few years.

Continuous feedback from our business partners who use our services is a precondition to successfully achieving our objectives, aimed at improving the quality of traction service. The online surface "Vontat2" accessible from the menu "Our services / Orders” on our website provides a continued and interactive possibility for this. Additionally, our English website will further the international relations and promote the foreign market opening objectives of our Company.

The senior management of our Company intends to meet the challenges in the frame of orderly labour relations, through efficient interest reconciliation.
